A Legacy of Giving Back: Ford Philanthropy's 2024 in Review
As we kick off 2025, we're reflecting on the incredible milestones we achieved in 2024. Last year, our communities, partners, and thousands of Ford volunteers worldwide came together to make a meaningful impact. Together, we expanded access to essential services, opened doors to education in tech and trades, and worked to break down barriers for a more inclusive path to entrepreneurship.
Here are the highlights that defined our year:
Rebranding as Ford Philanthropy and Celebrating our 75th Anniversary
In April, we proudly became Ford Philanthropy, a name that reflects Ford's 75-year legacy of giving back and driving global impact. In the U.S., we marked our 75th anniversary milestone in September, during Hunger Action Month, National Preparedness Month, and Hispanic Heritage Month with events like Ford Family Day open houses, billboards across SE Michigan, and a disaster preparedness training with Team Rubicon and Bill Ford in North Texas.
Delivering Disaster Relief Worldwide
- In Michigan, volunteers tarped roofs and cleared debris for tornado survivors alongside Team Rubicon.
- In Thailand, Ford employees partnered with the Karen Hilltribes Trust to distribute essential supplies to over 600 people impacted by flash floods.
- In China, we trained Ford residents in emergency preparedness and response through the ForDR Disaster Prevention and Response Training Course.
- After hurricanes Helene and Milton hit the Southeast, we mobilized funds and volunteers with Team Rubicon and Feeding America.
Breaking Ground on the new Ford Community Center in Blue Oval City
We partnered with United Way of West Tennessee to break ground on the Ford Community Center in Stanton, Tennessee, a hub for economic mobility, food security, and entrepreneurship.
Mobilizing Thousands of Ford Volunteers During Global Caring Month
During Global Caring Month, more than 4,000 Ford employees across 29 countries led 187 volunteer projects, focusing on educating youth, community cleanups, building inclusive communities, and promoting access to essential services—reflecting Ford's year-round commitment to community service.
Expanding Access to Mobile Eye Care for Ohio Students with Vision to Learn
Ford Philanthropy nonprofit partner, Vision To Learn is bringing mobile vision services to 15,000 students near Ford plants in Northeast Ohio, delivering over 4,000 prescription glasses and 5,000 eye exams.
Expanding Access to Food with Mobility Solutions
We partnered with Feeding America, DoorDash, and local food banks to deliver meals to families in Louisville, Michigan, and Tennessee, addressing transportation barriers to essential goods.
Building Education in South Africa
Ford South Africa celebrated 100 years by building 100 math and science labs and early childhood centers, in partnership with local organizations.
Supporting Entrepreneurs with the Ford Philanthropy Fellowship
The Ford Philanthropy Fellowship, in partnership with the Watson Institute, supported 47 entrepreneurs across seven countries through a 16-week virtual program with hands-on training, mentorship, and networking.
Here's to building on all of this momentum in 2025! We thank all those who have joined us on our mission to make the world a better place.
